Why is Turiec´s healing water unique?

Thermal mineral water from Turiec has proven healing effects thanks to high content of minerals in one litre of water which is up to 1,524.00 mg/l. Water could be considered healing when is the content and character of dissolved solid minerals more exceeds 1,000.00 mg.l-1.* Mineralization of mineral water from Turiec is one of the highest - not only in the Slovakia.

Healing effects of Turiec´s springs

Mineral water from Turčianske Teplice is used for partial and full body baths and also for drink cures during particular diseases. Water from healing springs for healing cure is free and accessible for all.

Rich mineralized thermal water (containing sulphates, bicarbonates, calcium, magnesium, iron and others) has proven healing effects for disease of locomotive tract, urinary, neurological and gynaecological diseases.

• From the aspect of urology content of calcium sulphate – CaSO₄, which decreases pH of urine, water is very suitable when phosphate and carbonate kidney stones and sand in the urinary tract occur.
• Its drinking is suitable for prostatitis due to the high content of calcium and magnesium with anti – inflammatory and anti – allergic effects.
• Due to the high content of calcium, magnesium and fluorine is mineral water from Turčianske Teplice very suitable for drinking cures in cases of osteoporosis, various kinds of kidney stones and bowel diseases.
• Water is suitable for diseases of digestive systems as are inflammation of large intestine mucosa where has positive effects to mucosa, for diseases of gall bladder where increases production and secretion of gall.
• It is suitable drink and healing product for hyper-acidity and for hyper production of gastric acid. It is not recommended for hypo production of gastric acid.

Acquaint yourself with healing springs of Turčianske Teplice

Main mineral spring – Well is situated in the spa between Folk and Red bath. It is one of the most used wells in Turčianske Teplice. Well was drilled in 1966 and built in 1969. Original depth was 97.0 m. Mineral water from this well is used in spa hotel Veľká Fatra for spa therapy in Emerald pool, for hydrotherapy and healing tube baths. Capacity of spring : 7 litres per second.

Blue pool – Spring is situated in the premises of spa – it is a blue building. It is a pool with grid bottom. It is used for bathing. For this purpose is cooled with cold water. During its operation hours is pool discharged and filled up. After filling up is discharged by spillway. Daily fluctuation of level is 1.2. Capacity of spring is 0,74 l/s. Out of service until further notice.

Red pool – Spring is situated in the building of SPA & AQUAPARK. It is a natural pool – piscine. In spa therapy is its mineral water used for bathing. Daily fluctuation of level is 1.2 m. Capacity – 4 l/s.

Drinking spring Kollár - Spring is situated in the premises of spa and originally was drilled as a well B2 in 1959 until the depth 34 m. In 1984 was made to current form. It pours out through stainless steel mouth with diameter 133 mm, direct surroundings are arranged in marble. Water is used for direct drinking trough drinking vase. Temperature of the water is from 43.0 up to 45.2 °C. Capacity – 0.033 l/s.

Drinking spring Živena – Spring is situated before entrance to spa premises, in the front of spa hotel Fatra. It is built in metal pipes and water pours out four mouths to stone drinking vase. There is yellow – white sediment at the bottom part of pipes. Well was drilled in 1965 until the depth 62.0 m. Thermal water was found at the depth 52.0 m and temperature at the outlet is 40°C. It is used for drinking. It is transparent and hot with the taste of sulphur mineral water. Capacity – 0.033 l/s.

White pool – Spring named White pool is not in use now.

Other regional mineral waters

During drinking cures are served also mineral water from Turiec Budiš, Fatra and Fatra Extra. Budiš is recommended for urological diseases, precious mineral waters Fatra and Fatra Extra neutralize pH of internal environment, and it is effective for heartburning and adds to body necessary minerals during diets and strain of body.

Mineral water FATRA

Fatra – it is the only natural water in the Middle Europe with alkaline effect. It regulates increased gastric acid, neutralizes internal stomach environment. People with gastric problems are satisfied with it for dozens of years. Except classic Fatra 96 metres from its spring there is rising spring of extra healing Fatra. It has triple higher mineralization and has triple effect.

Mineral water BUDIŠ

Budiš – natural mineral water, highly appreciated for its nice taste. It is suitable for some stomach diseases, for people prone to kidney stones, for diabetes and for catarrh of airways.
